6.What can I do with BPMCloud.net?

1. What is BPM?

Business process management is a discipline in which you identify and streamline the operational characteristics of an organization. EliteBPM provides you with the capabilities to quickly write custom software that automates process. Streamlining and automating process results in efficiencies that help run the business. This results in reduced costs and promotes business growth.

2. What is cloud computing?

Cloud computing technology allows you to easily provision infrastructure - virtual servers and volume space - commonly referred to as computing capacity - in the cloud. It allows you to manage and grow in and out of the required enterprise resources that you need quickly with no management overhead and with minimal costs.

3. Where is the "cloud"?

BPMCloud.net uses the Amazon Elastic Computing Cloud (EC2). More information about Amazon EC2 can be found at http://aws.amazon.com/ec2.

4. Why combine BPM with cloud computing?

Business process management software requires enterprise infrastructure to function including servers, databases and an application server to name a few. The expense of a BPM solution runs very high once you include the cost of infrastructure, infrastructure management and licensing fees for all of the systems plus the original BPM software product. By combining BPM and cloud computing, BPMCloud.net provides you with a computing environment for process management immediately. It eliminates the need to install and manage infrastructure which will reduce your expenses considerably.

Combining BPM with cloud computing technology also provides scalability and flexibility. You can scale horizontally by immediately launching as many BPM domains required to support your needs or the needs of your clients. You can also scale vertically, growing into the computing capacity required to run your BPM solutions as needed.

Ultimately the combination of BPM and cloud computing technology delivers managed BPM solutions.

5. Is the BPM domain secure?

We have taken dozens of measures to secure the domain to protect the resources and data on the system. Here are a few of the measures taken:

A strict security policy (firewall) is enabled on the virtual server that only permits ports 80, 443 and 22 to connect into the server. These are the HTTP, HTTPS and the SSH (secure shell) ports, respectively. Data over ports 22 (SSH) and 443 (HTTPS) are encrypted.
Every BPM domain has built in SSL support. SSL encrypts web traffic over https to secure data transmission.
Super user (root) access has been disabled. This is a common security vulnerability that allows rogue programs to randomly find and try to connect to systems with root access.
Intrusion detection systems are included on every BPM domain to prevent "brute force" attacks and unauthorized access.
The volume that contains your data is protected by a user that is managed by you. The volume data is only accessible by your software and user.
The EliteBPM software was built with all common security threats eliminated, such as SQL injection, cross site scripting and session hijacking. It was built from the ground up with an advanced internal security system that governs access to processes and resources.
Although we have taken every measure to secure the domain and data, you have the control to change the security configurations on the database and application server to suit your needs

6. What can I do with BPMCloud.net?

Build process-driven business applications without a large upfront capital investment.
Create and brand your own solutions to offer to your customers. Launch BPM domains as a "SaaS" solution for your customers or manage your solution under a single BPM domain.
Integrate any system with a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Create and launch as many independent BPM domains as you need in just minutes.
Manage your development life cycle with multiple BPM domains. For example you can run your development, integration and production environments in separate domains, promoting your processes as they are developed and tested.
Communicate with peers in our forums.
Gain access to the tools, samples and resources necessary to build BPM solutions.
